The 12th Encuentro Verema will take place on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 February 2013, in the magnificent Hotel Balneario Las Arenas Valencia GL *****, on the Malvarrosa beach.

Friday, February 22, 2012

11:00 am - 12:00 am: Registration

12:00 am - 9:00 pm: "Verema Experience Space 2013" with the participation of over 90 outstanding wineries. Attendees will taste the wines and talk directly with the winemakers. 

Saturday, February 23, 2013

Attendees should select a wine tasting and a workshop for each time schedule. Since there are limited seats for each tasting / workshop, they will be asigned on a first payment first registration basis. 

11:00 am - 1:00 pm: Grand Tastings (choose one) (*)

• La Rioja Alta S.A. "Vertical Tasting of Viña Arana and La Rioja Alta Gran Reserva 904". The tasting will be led by Samuel Fernández and Julio Sáenz. Wines will be tasted: Viña Arana 1989, 1996, 2001 and 2005, and La Rioja Alta Gran Reserva 904 1982, 1995 and 2001.
• Bodegas Abadía Retuerta. "Evolution of the wines from the Douro Valley in the last 15 years." Wines to be tasted: Abadía Retuerta Selección Especial 2009 and 1999; Pago Negralada 2010 and 1996; Pago Garduña 2010 and 2003; Pago Valdebellón 2009 and 1999; PV 2010 and PV 2002. 
• Bodegas Mustiguillo. "Vertical Tasting of Quincha Corral". Toni Sarrión will lead this extraordinary tasting with different vintages of this iconic wine. The vintages to be tastes will be the 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 y 2009.
• Cavas Recaredo. "Recaredo, 50 years of history". The tasting will be led by Toni Mata, who will share his knowledge of this emblematic wine: Recaredo Reserva Particular. We will taste Recaredo Reserva Particular 2001, 1999, 1996, 1993, 1991 y 1984.
• Bodega Alfredo Arribas. Portal del Priorat. "¿White Granache or Red Granache? Vertical Tasting of Trossos". Alfredo Arribas will lead the tasting sharing his love to Grenache and his work on his Montsant vineyard. 
• Niepoort. "Niepoort, A walk through some of the best wines of Portugal". The wines we will taste: Tiara 2011 and 2005; Redoma Tinto 2008, 2009 and 2010; Batuta 2008 and 2010; Charme 2008 and 2010; Lbv 1981 and 2008; Vintage Bioma 2009; Vintage niepoort 2009; Colheitas 2001 and 1986  and VV. Dirk van der Niepoort will lead this tasting. 4:45 pm - 6:45 pm : Grand Tastings (choose one) (*)

• Artistic Taste: Hordago Ardoa. Mikel Garaizabal (winemaker and sommelier) and his band of artists present a new concept of tasting. They mixed theater, music, paint and poetry. The wines to be tasted will be Magalarte 2012, Berroja 201, Itsasmendi Urezti Vendimia tardia 2008,Amaren 05, Manuel Quintano 05, Merus.4 07 and Baigorri Garaje 07.
• Premium Gins with Schweppes tonic water. This workshop will taste 4 Schweppes tonics mixed with Premium Gins The London Nº1, Hendricks, G´Vine, Martin Millers,.. The workshop will be led by Juan Carlos Muñoz (Association President of Bartenders Association of Spain). 
• Bodegas Muga. Two vintages will be compared in this tasting. 2005 and 2009 are great vintages in Rioja.  The wines Muga Crianza 2005  and 2009; Muga Selección Especial 2005 and 2009; Prado Enea 2005 and 2009; Torre Muga 2005 and 2009; Aro 2005 and 2009.
• Champagne Delamotte-Salon  Wines will be tasted: Delamotte Brut, Delamotte blanc de blancs, Delamotte blanc de blancs 2002, Delamotte Rosé y Delamotte blanc de blancs 1996; Salon blanc de blancs 1999, Salon blanc de blancs 1997 and Salon blanc de blancs 1983. SOLD OUT! 
• Bodegas Vega Sicilia. Vertical Tasting of Valbuena directed by Xavier Ausas. The vintages will be Valbuena 2009, 2004, 2000, 1998, 1992,1990, 1983; 1980 and 1976. SOLD OUT!

7.00 - 9.00 pm. Grand Tasting and Verema Awards to the best Spanish wine producers and Verema users of the year 2012.

 

10.00 pm - 12:00 pm: Grand Closing Banquet at La Embajada Restaurant

        - Regular Price: 125 euros           

        - Verema Wine Club member: 85 euros
            
 Closing Banquet dinner: 100 euros

* Registration for the meeting does not include the Closing dinner, which must be purchased separately.
