Purchase of the Château de Gevrey-Chambertin: the new owner’s plans
The Château de Gevrey-Chambertin and the 2 ha of vineyards attached to it were purchased last spring by a Chinese enthusiast, Mr. Louis Ng.
The sum of the transaction (8 million Euros) caused understandable anxiety concerning the increase of the price of land in the wine-growing region. Mr. Ng, meanwhile, has a number of plans for his property. While farming of the vines is entrusted to Eric Rousseau (Domaine Armand Rousseau), he is also planning the complete restoration of the building, listed as a Historic Monument.
