Molino Real
Re: Molino Real and QPR
Ver mensaje de Juan SuchI think so. Too expensive. If I have to pay 30€; I prefer an Austrian Kracher TBA rather than Molino Real.
¿What QPR means? ¿Queens Park Rangers? :-))))))))
Gonzalo Lainez (Bodegas Roda)
QPR means...
Ver mensaje de Gonzalo_Lainez... Quality-Price ratio. Equivalent to RCP in Spanish (Relación Calidad-Precio )
Save a Kracher bottle for my next trip to Bilbao.
I knew it
Ver mensaje de Juan SuchI’ll keep a bottle of Kracher just for you mate!!!
Gonzalo Lainez (Bodegas Roda)
Juan, you should look at prices...
Ver mensaje de Juan SuchThat some German TBA or BA can get!, I haven’t tasted any Molino Real yet so I don’t know if they’re comparable at all. I’ll have to open the bottle and see what it hides inside.
Count me in for that Kracher tasting @ Bilbao }:^)!!!
cheers,
a.
Re: Molino Real and QPR
Ver mensaje de Juan SuchBefore talking about QPRs in sweet wines from France, Germany, Austria... let’s not forget that sweet sherry and PX may be the best QPR is the world. There are other options in Spain as well: Felipe Gutiérrez de la Vega’s Casta Diva La Diva and Casta Diva Cosecha Miel (Alicante), Masia Serra ";INO"; (L’Emporda), Castaño Monastrell Dulce (Yecla), Josefina Piñol’s Mistela de Garnatxa (Terra Alta), Chivite’s Colección 125 Vendimia Tardía (Navarra), Camilo Castilla’s Capricho de Goya (Navarra), Castillo de Monjardín’s Esencia late-harvest chardonnay (Navarra) ...
Sweet sherry and Cooperativa del Masroig
Ver mensaje de WaltZalenskiIt’s true. Sweet sherry and PX may be the best QPR sweet wines in the world! But the style is quite differente from this Molino Real.
Apart from the other options you comment (I have tried Felipe Gutiérrez de la Vega’s Casta Diva La Diva and Casta Diva Cosecha Miel, Castaño Monastrell Dulce and Josefina Piñol’s Mistela de Garnatxa, Terra Alta) I recommend you Mistela Molt Vella del Masroig made by Cooperativa del Masroig (attention to his gifted winemaker and wines). You can see a TN in English: https://www.verema.com/en/tastingnotes/wine.asp?wine=3467
and several TNs in Spanish: https://www.verema.com/comunidad/vinoscatados/vino.asp?vino=3467
Les Sorts Vinyes Velles 2001 is a red wine made by this coop worth looking too: https://www.verema.com/en/tastingnotes/wine.asp?wine=4335
Re: Sweet sherry and Cooperativa del Masroig
Ver mensaje de Juan SuchI agree. Sweet sherry and PX may be the best QPR sweet wines in the world. But, peculiarly, they are wines that aren`t bought habitually. This is a question that we will treat in the next Verema Encounter.
