Deep strawberry red with a pale red rim. Fresh raspberries but with a depth that shouts world class winemaking. All it took was for the first sip to make me realise that this was the real McCoy. Initially, I tasted sweet red fruits like raspberries and cherries, then the palate takes a few seconds to open up and then I am caressed with wave after wave of those same red fruits smothering my taste buds. A huge and extremely long lasting length, this wine neared perfection for me, but ultimately it was nearing maturity. This is when I expect the slight dryness of tannins on the palate to be fully resolved and lead to the liquid cherry bakewell taste. I nursed my couple of glasses for well over an hour and it was still a little firm at the end. This is certainly one of the best red wines I have ever tasted.
