Ver mensaje de Paco HigónEasy,
According to the definition of icon just one...Vega Sicilia (as you said).
The others (Jerez) are just secrets...but not icons!!
and that’s it.

What about...
Ver mensaje de Ricard_MalvesiClassic Rioja (like Tondonia) or modern Ribera, like Pingus or Priorat like L’Ermita...
Re: What about...
Ver mensaje de Paco HigónWhat we do understand for ";icon";???
1.- An important and enduring symbol
2.- One who is the object of great attention and devotion
3.- symbol of anything considered holy and divine
4.- an object of uncritical devotion
To me ";icon"; means something really important+well known+with a long tradition.
So,
1.- L’Ermita and Pingus are not yet ";icons";, they are at the moment cult wines but they still have to do a long, long way before acheaving the status of ";icon";
2.- Tondonia, has well the long long way, but lacks the ";holy and divine"; status world wide!!!, it is an really good wine but in mho is not a top, so it is not an icon.

Ricard
