Wine shops in Valencia?
Ver mensaje de ivanmcaHi, new to this forum; I’m going to Valencia this week (second time, last time was for the Fallas in 2002!) and was wondering if anyone had any knowledge of good wine stores?
My familiarity is mostly with Rioja (I like traditional but even more modern styles) although I am also very fond of sherry and dessert wines, particularly PX (and also moscatel in the light BdV/MR style although I would not be against trying some darker variants). I’ve also had some good bottles from other regions (Ribera del Duero, Toro, Priorat, Bierzo) recently and would be interested in branching out a bit in that regard.
Restaurant/wine bar suggestions are also very welcome.

Ver mensaje de ivanmcaHello, although Valencia is small in comparison to Barcelona or Madrid there are some interesting wine shops here. If you speak a little bit of Spanish you’ll find here: https://www.verema.com/guia/tiendas/comunidades/c_valenciana.asp#valencia some nice shops. Mantequerias Castillo, Bodegas Santander and Las Añadas de España are pretty good options. Ver mensaje de ivanmcaThe address is Seneca, 7 (if you take a taxi you must say to the taxi driver that is a pedestrian road next to “Calle Yecla”). And the office hours are from 9-14 and from 17-19. Just say that you are a Verema forumite and that you want to buy some wines….

Ver mensaje de suikoWell, Valencia is a small city not too difficult to bike… the road traffic is a little bit intense –especially at rush hours- but there are a few kilometres of bike lanes…
