A project by Bill Harlan (of Harlan Estate fame) where he buys in grapes

A project by Bill Harlan (of Harlan Estate fame) where he buys in grapes and produces this different label. Double decanted about four hours ahead. Opaque cherry red, I found sweet toasty oak and plenty of plum fruit with a few sniffs. The ripe fruit are easy to drink with a pleasing length that is supported by the vanilla oak and features an underpinning thread of acidity as well. There is the velvet fruit similarity on the palate between this wine and the 1999 Harlan Estate, although the intensities are quite different.
