Dark strawberry red with a pale pink rim. Anise, pine and mature but delicate cherries on the nose. My first sip had me shaking my head in admiration and I found it so hard to move onto the next Port. So silky, the tannic core is ripe and totally surrounded by young red fruits. The persistence on the palate continues for wave after wave of pleasure and it holds a very long finish. Top Taylor’s Port, and if you don’t own any, it may be time to think about trying a bottle. This should still be delivering pleasure over the next forty to fifty years.
