Very opaque, it is more like a much more recent vintage. Intense aroma, with personality, black fruit, rubber and toast. It would have benefited from decanting beforehand, but we failed to do it. The mouth is tasty, fresh thanks to an appropriate acidity, which lightens it nicely and makes it perhaps less dense than previous vintages. A persistent aftertaste, which would have improved with more airing. At present, I find it better in the mouth than on the nose. This wine, which is to reach the market in October is still a baby. Pepe is indeed right to hold it back for so long. The slow bottle reduction will give it more expression and complexity.
