Contino 1994

Garnet colour slightly lighter at rim. Nose of espresso and asian spice with some tobacco.
Mature but not old. In the background there is a very slight vegetal/musty note but it doesn't detract from a very enjoyable nose.
On the palate there's ripe, sweet red and black fruit.
It's richly textured and fully evolved. Some glycerol but a slight bitter twist on the finish that prevents this from being flabby.
Over the course of the evening this hardly changes. Mature but not in decline. It has that typical Contino caramel richness.
