Have you heard of .....
Have you heard of .....
Ver mensaje de RayQSin-Ley G5 ??
it’s apparently a Garnacha from Madrid ?
saw this while browsing a wine shop in the USA.
I’ve never heard of it.
Claims to be an old vine Garnacha.
retails in USA for $13
Re: Have you heard of .....
Ver mensaje de RayQHi Ray, it could be from Bodegas Jeromin, but I´m not sure. They also make a splendid Garnacha from old vines for a very friendly price. But if I recall well there is also a Vinos sin Ley from Catalunya, or Terra alta, and maybe some other regions too. But I should look it up in the famous June 2005 Spain edition of Parker. In Spain the wine is unknown, the wine is sold for export only.

Ver mensaje de GuiriThanks Guiri,
proof of the global economy. A Spanish wine even Spanish people cannot buy !
Don’t subscribe to the WA so cannot check it out.
Your explination makes sense though.
Re: Have you heard of .....
Ver mensaje de RayQWell this is not that atypical… however sometimes they tend to be the same wines sold in Spain but with a different name… some other times they just differ in the time that spent in the cask…
And many times special cuvées made for the importer (v)

Ver mensaje de RayQ This is a special project run through Ole Imports. Here is a link explaining the multiple wines produced through this ";Wines without Law"; project.

I can say the 2004 G5 is very good and should be available in Spain as not all of the production is exported to the US
