    Hi ! Me again.

I just read in Brazil an repor about three regions in Spain :Sardon del Duero, Yecla e Toro.It was said about these regions that are growing up and producting good wines.it was given some samples :

Abadia Retuerta Rívola 2004(60% tempranillo,40% cabernet sauvignon)(sardon del duero).

    Castaño Coleccion 2002 - (Monastrel (80%), Cabernet Sauvignon (10%) e Tempranillo (10%).From Yacla region.

    Dehesa Gago 2002(from Toro).

Are they good wines. Are there others better from these regions ?

Well, Sardon del Duero is not a region but a village in the area of the Ribera del Duero… and Abadia de Retuerta is a cellar not registered in the D.O. Ribera del Duero. Nice wines especially (IMMO) the “Pago de Negralada” and Abadia de Retuerta PV (petit verdot) … but both quite expensive…

Yecla is a very small producing area in which there are just a few cellars… from my point of view Castaño is the best producer…. I like very much Hecula cheap and really nice….and the extraordinary Mira Salinas

Finally Toro is a very promising area… Dehesa Gago is a good wine… but I’d recommend you first Pintia (from Bodegas Vega Sicilia), San Román (from Viñedos Maurodos) and if you enjoy “parkerised” wines Numanthia is an interesting option…

    Cheers

The recommendation of Paco is good. In Particular, for me, D.O. Toro is a great D.O with very good wines like Pintia, Numanthia, Finca Sobreño,Gran Colegiata. It,s a D.O. that is growing in quality.

Sorry, I haven´t tasted San Roman but I take down because I like this D.O (Toro) very much.
Another D.O very interesting, if you like Toro: D.O Cigales(near to Ribera del Duero) I suggest you: Cesar Príncipe, Museum.

    Dear Carlos,
Firstly I would like thanks for your interesting hints.Surely it will help me very much and is very good make new friends.

Biene, sobre viños de calidade en Brasil(viños de españa) we have : alion(which I don’t drink yet),vega sicilia único, pintia, marques de Riscal, condado de haza, pesquera, alenza(I like too much of these wines de Alejandro Hernandes),Cepa Gavilán 2003, Imperial Gran Reserva 1996 (CVNE) entre otros. We have Finca Sobreño(but not sellecion),too(which by the way I will buy thanks to your suggestion !!).Other wine which I became very, very interesting taste is abadia retuerta(don’t have here). If you wish to know more about which wines is trading in Brazil see the sites : www.mistral.com.br or www.decanter.com.br

The our problem in Brazil is the high(in fact, very high) fee and tax applied on foreignes products. For example, Pintia in Spain costs 22,50 euros but in Brazil it is sold at 82 euros(or 99 dolars)!!! Well,if any brazilian friend go to Spain(or anybody from Spain come to Brazil) I will give money for him to buy spanish wines.

Galicia is a very famous and beautiful city.I live in Rio de Janeiro.I’m 39 years and I’m physicist.

Once more thank you very much.
    Best wishes,

    Jandir Joaquim
