First tried this in the 2000 vintage where I thought it was a Chateauneuf. Garnet red colour very clear. High toned nose with some garrique, spice and some bloody notes. Initially there is sweetness balanced with good acidity. However the problem is with the finish. There is a dryness verging on bitterness. I have found this on all 03 Rhones and remain to be convinced it will ever soften.
