In the glass the wine revealed an evolved amber edge to its moderate garnet color. It is absolutely sumptuously-scented, offering primary aromas of aromas of raspberries, black currants and plum that are perfectly balanced with secondary aromas of rich black truffles, forest floor, allspice, clove, and tobacco smoke. On the palate, the wine is shows vibrant acidity, and soft, round, concentrated flavors that lingered on the palate. The tannins are nicely resolved but the wine is not without a nice velvety-textured grip. I would rate this easily 98 points-- shy of perfection only because the palate did not have quite the monumental depth to match the mind-boggling aromatics.
