Color ámbar con tonos anaranjados.

Delicado y sutil en todas las fases de la cata, parece que se vaya a romper en la copa.

Predominio en nariz del fruto seco y el sándalo.

En boca elegante, interminable.

Un vino completo.

Si para celebrar mi Kata 170, introducía mi primer 10 para un Magnifico Zaconia de 1964, ahora para mi Kata 200 no iba a ser menos y me descolgare con otro 10! Otra de TERCIOPEEELOOOO!
Avalado por miles de grandísimos entendidos y premiadísimo en 2003 como uno de los mejores vinos del mundo en Todas las categorías... No te deja frío ni indiferente! Te sorprende, No por mucho haber oído hablar de el y mucho esperar, te llevas una decepción, es mas, sobrepasa tus expectativas!!!
No me atrevo ha hacer una cata de tan elocuente liquido elemento, Tan solo mi mas humilde homenaje, a un vinazo de Madeira, que me hizo soñar, literalmente te habla, desde el primer sorbo hasta el ultimo, cierras los ojos y te hace soñar!
UNA MARAVILLA!!!!

Barbeito Sercial 1978
Sercial always makes the driest style of Madeira, and this is a special selection of the 1978 harvest, which remained in cask until 2000, when it was decanted into glass demi-johns before bottling in 2001. Only 620 bottles were produced. This has a fairly dark golden brown colour, and very dark, nutty, almond and herbal notes on the nose. The palate is really quite oily, with a fine, rich mouth-feel and a wonderfully complex array of fig, toast, caramel and biscuit flavours. It is just off-dry, and has a lovely finesse and warmth into a long finish. Excellent!
Barbeito have just received confirmation that they have been awarded a ’Jury Decouvertes’ Award at Vinexpo this year. Just ten wines at each Vinexpo receive this award, whittled down from every wine on show at Vinexpo! The award was made to Barbeito Sercial 1978 and is the first Madeira ever to win this award. The judging panel included Tim Atkin, Michel Bettane, Charles Metcalfe, Robert Joseph and Anthony Rose, as well as the six finalists for the world title of Sommelier of the Year this year.
