Gran Cruor Selecció Caranyena

Black cherry coloured wine, medium to full bodied, showing a hint of age at the rim, long glycerinous legs.

Slightly vegetal nose initially, peppery, blackberry fruit, leather, menthol, chocolate, coffee, mountain scrub but slow to give up its complex elements.

In the mouth  round, meaty, jammy fruit, blackberry and blackcurrant, cassis, blueberry, a long creamy finish with liquorice.

(I had the pleasure of tasting again after 24 hours. It was much more open and developed both on the nose and in the mouth. The structure had come together.)
