As we open the bottel arises a smell of black fruits (blackberries).
Dark red with the rim that shows a bit of evolution, I mean it’s a clearer colour. Medium/High coloured.
It smells like the first blackberries of the season. A touch of green notes and... capsicum? Black olives without its dressing. A soft smoke touch, like when we start the fire in the fireplace with holm oak branches.
In mouth it’s a very smooth and savory sip. It confirms black fruits. It’s hard to find neither a bit of acidity in it. Medium/Low persistence.
It’s been matched with jaws of veal stew (an spanish traditional dish). It is fine, but it’s not the best match of all. IMHO a wine with more body/structure and a bit more of acidity would have been a better match, due to the melty texture of this meat.
Anyhow, it’s a good match for "Elton John Live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra".
I paid about 7 EUR and a half. It’s too near of the upper threshold of a good QPR.
