Deep red colour, no sign of any ageing at the rim. Wonderfully expressive nose. Red fruits to the fore. Some high toned notes and a hint of farmyard aromas, possibly brett but this wears odd. There is some spirity alcohol on the nose and palate. In the mouth it is very balanced and smooth. With time the tannins become a little dusty but this is a lovely wine more Ribera del duero than traditional Rioja, clean defined fruit with sensile use of oak. Drinking very well now.
