The impressive cork in the bottle shows the care that has been taken for it to keep well for a long time. Now it is in a certain stage of involution, it requires decanting and even then it doesn’t open and the complexity is not very good. A big bouquet with a predominance of ripe red fruit and in the background, but present nonetheless, the quality oak. The mouth is also big, very good quality ripe tannins, but with an aftertaste still to develop and increase in complexity. I agree with the Peña Bilbao and David_G that the wine is not impressive at the present time. It only shows tremendous structure and potential. In short, we have just drunk a ‘five-year-old baby’. I wouldn’t touch another bottle for at least another two years.
