Ariana Listán Negro Syrah: sapore di sale, Lanzarote beach
Respuestas: 3
Tasted in a fair of wines sometime ago now seems to me more serious, mature, long and concentrated.
Very lovely rich nose. Full, exotic and opulent. Not too alcoholic. Mineral slide.
Very good for the vintage.
Ends ripe and gently oaky.
(El Grifo, Ariana 2008)
El Grifo- they make quite a nice sweet wine?
Canari. (1956, 1970 & 1997 coupage) with raisined grapes. Touch of lime, good acidity, fragant. This kind of wine with extra dimensions: color, guayaba, honey.
I enjoyed a Listán Negro from Tenerife in lanzarote last year. Look forward to trying more when I finally get to Tenerife.
Yes, Ray, El Grifo, like many Lanzarote bodegas, make all types of Malvasía from dry through medium-sweet to sweet. Interesting in situ, but maybe not something you'd really seek out - I think the yield is pretty high (not surprisingly, perhaps, in such a terrain). Interestingly, though, the El Grifo sweetie I brought back was much better on the second day than on the first.
