Spanish wines: It’s raining 90’s
Spanish wines: It’s raining 90’s
Ver mensaje de Paco HigónJay Miller, Robert Parker’s acolyte and in charge of tasting Spanish wines has released his list of Spanish wines….. and like Santa Klaus has come full of really good ratings… probably too many (679 wines with 90 or more points….)
What do you think about????
I do prefer Three Wise Men? :^) (v)

It’s raining 90’s
Ver mensaje de Paco HigónIt’s not the flood of 90’s that’s the problem but the stream of 95+ !!
That’s where the points chasers head for.
And Spanish winemakers are business men/women not bohemians so guess where the allocations will go ??
And the prices...
Well the allocations will go West and
the prices will go North.
Nearly everything above 96pts on that list is beyond me anyway !
HOWEVER, I have a suspicion that as it’s widely known by now that it’s not Robert Parker
handing out the scores the effect will not be as great.
Or am I just deluding myself ??
Re: It’s raining 90’s
Ver mensaje de RayQWell Ray, in fact just a few winegeeks seemed to realize that Jay Miller is not Parker…. Winemakers did… of course, but given that many of them had improved with the change… they are speechless …. ;-)
Any point-maker is right...
Ver mensaje de Paco HigónFor wine-point-makers. Does really matters whether RP or JM are the tasters? Industry never stops, so nobody seems to pay attention to the names changed...
