Vino Gigondas rouge 2001: Poured straight from the bottle into my glass and the label says 14%

Poured straight from the bottle into my glass and the label says 14% alcohol. Almost opaque dark cherry red. Lashings of primary black fruits and do I detect some vanilla oak in the nose as well? A polished blackberry and black plum effort, good thread of acidity and ripe tannins that dry the inside of my mouth. This full bodied wine is young and my main criticism is that the palate appears a tad one dimensional from the fruit aspect. Drink now with food and over the next few years.
