July/2014 wines...
- Muga Blanco Fermentado en Barrica 2012. DOC Rioja. (8,55 EUR)
No trace of oak and it’s a good point. No high or low on it; it’s a nice quaff really.
- Lecea Clarete 2012. DOC Rioja (3,5 EUR)
I think that I’ve said this before, but if anytime a smart sommelier at, for instance, NYC, drink this wine… we won’t see any bottle overhere! More (a lot!!)!!!!
- David Moreno Rosado 2012. DOC Rioja (3,9 EUR)
I do enjoy this wine everytime I uncork a bottle. I do enjoy this kind of wines with its blush hue, soft, light. As I great spanish cook (Abraham García - Rte. Viridiana) say: 'Nightgown femme fatale hue'. More!!!
- La Bota de Manzanilla 32. Equipo Navazos. DO Jerez y Manzanilla-Sanlúcar de Barrameda
And... are you sure it's manzanilla and not amontillado? More!!
- Quintaluna 2013. Ossian Vides y Vinos, S.L. VdT Castilla y León. (6-7 EUR)
All that’s needed in a verdejo and no trace of what use to disturb me (tropical waves). Refreshing and something else than correct. I would drink again.
- Viña Aljibes Rosado 2013. Bodega Los Aljibes. (3,9 EUR)
Nice rosé. Thin, fine and vivacious. Good acidity and that touch of bitterness that reminds me the watermelon skin. More!
- Muga Rosado 2013. Bodegas Muga. DOC Rioja
Despite I would do appreciate an extra nudge of acidity it’s really nice and looooooong. More!
- Amontillado Botaina. Emilio Lustau. DO Jerez y Manzanilla-Sanlúcar de Barrameda (15,75 EUR)
I get enoughly old to admit that this wine moves into an orbital of great and colossal. More!!!
- La Bota de Manzanilla Pasada nº 30. Equipo Navazos. DO Jerez y Manzanilla-Sanlúcar de Barrameda
Maybe it's first bottle by "La Bota de" that disappoints me. Bitter almonds and deep salty character, but a disjointed behaviour as whole. Lack of harmony. I don't know.
Slightly tainted by TCA. Nonetheless it’s a silky, maybe creamy, sip wrapping a grapefruit acidity. Next day TCA kills the wine absolutely.

Jose
