Vinos Sin Fronteras : “Around the world in 80 vineyards”

Author: www.vinossinfronteras.com ( 28-11-2006 )

Discover vineyards, wineries and wines from around the world... Learn about different wine making techniques; get to know new grape varieties... Talk with winemakers from different countries... are dreams of anyone passionate about wine...

The foundation Vinos Sin Fronteras allows us to fulfill these desires through a original humanitarian-wine project called: “Around the world in 80 vineyards.”

It consists of making a trip around the world visiting only the wine making zones of the planet, with the objective of collecting donations in the form of bottles of wine which will, at the end of the trip, be sold off in an auction in order to collect funds.

All the funds collected from the auction will be given in their totality to a humanitarian organization, in this case, Acción Contra el
Hambre (Action against Hunger), an association which has been fighting to eradicate hunger in the world since the 1980’s: www.accioncontraelhambre.org.

Nicolas Beausset and Geraldine Reinhold Von Essen, the “2 Wine-trotters” will visit, in a voyage over five continents, 15 countries and more than 80 vineyards. Their idea is to collect the maximum number of bottles from the wineries so that the auction, upon their return, will be the most profitable.
The trip will begin in South Africa, than it will head towards Asia; Australia and New Zealand. They will cross the Pacific to go to Chile, Uruguay, Argentina, Bolivia, California and Oregon. In the end, they will return to Europe, starting with Portugal, going through France, Italy and for sure Spain where the auction will be organized.

For the majority of the wineries mini-documentaries will be made for medias, and this way it will be possible to see the protagonists from all the wineries in the world, or programs about the harvests in Australia or winemaking process in New-Zealand.

It should be known that the financing for this project is private and the coverage received in the media, among those this one, has the goal of stimulating the sponsorship for the project from interested companies. These companies can benefit from the publicity the project will receive as it will reach millions of people and their name brands will be spread throughout the world.
Companies like JF Hillebrand (logistic specialist) or Dharma Wines (importer) have already joined in to complete this grand humanitarian operation which we will be able to follow through their website www.vinossinfronteras.org. and on www.verema.com of course!
