Forthcoming “Verema 9th Meeting” Agenda
The Verema 9th Meeting will be held from 19 to 20 February 2010 in Valencia. We invite you to participate in one of the most attractive wine events in Spain.
Year after year, we pledge to offer two days of intense activity around the wine with many of the most interesting people working in the Spanish wine sector.
This is one of the few events in which, in addition to tastings or mini-exhibitions, the most interesting wine makers share their knowledge and experiences; so all attendees may better know the human side of the wine world. The event will take place at the Hilton Valencia *****.

6. Torres Spirits: The Spirit of a large family
Since Arnau de Vilanova distilled the first brandy in the thirteenth century until today, a lot has been written about the brandy but its making is still shrouded in a certain aura of alchemy and mystery. In this tasting we will know some secrets of the making of brandy and we will have occasion to try samples from the different stages of the distillation process, from the differente stages of aging. Products taken directly from the barrel.

At the end of the meeting, you will have been enjoying a total of 4 conducted tastings (the opening on Friday, the closing on Saturday tastings plus the two parallel sessions) and two wine exhibitions with over 80 wineries represented, with the Friday dinner and Saturday lunch included.

Venue of the 9th Verema Meeting
The ninth edition of ‘Encuentro’ Verema will be held in the facilities of the Hotel Hilton Valencia ***** (Avenida Cortes Valencianas, 52, Valencia). This is a strategically located hotel, opposite to the Placio de Congresos (Valencia Conference Centre), with very good connections to the hot spots of the city.
If you want to stay at the Hilton Valencia ***** you can make the booking directly, indicating that you want the special Verema price (only available for the days of the 9th Meeting.) The price (includes breakfast buffet) is 100.00 € / day (7% VAT included) Double room. This price is only valid until January 18, 2010. Limited number of rooms avalaible.

Ca'Sento, La Sucursal & Vertical: Trio of Stars
21:30. Closing dinner.
This is an extra activity, out of the official program, is voluntary and with we have limited capacity.
The closing dinner of the 9th Meeting Verema, will be run by the chefs of Restaurants Ca' Sento, La Sucursal y Vertical, all awarded with a Michelin star. The dinner will be held at the premises of the Hilton Hotel Valencia *****, in an unprecedented act where some of the best chefs of Valencia will make that tradition and innovation converge, combining superb quality raw materials with creative cooking, with deep Mediterranean roots.
Jorge Andrés. He grew up among cookers with the conviction that in the kitchen there is always something new to do. In Vertical he has achieved professional recognition without losing touch with the popular and traditional cuisine of his childhood.
Jorge Bretón found his true calling in the kitchen. His inquisitive character and his training - Industrial Engineering – has lead him to the constant pursuit of innovation, which daily applies in La Sucursal, he keeps a close relationship with the Polytechnic University in an endless learning process.
Raúl Aleixandre, National Prize of Gastronomy, with only 32 years was awarded as Best Chef. Ca 'Sento advocates a creative cuisine with a basis where the maximum is to move the client.
As if this were not enough, we will the have the collaboration with the pairings of Manuela Romeralo, National Gastronomy Prize as Best Sommelier and dear friend of Verema, coupled with the know-how of Javier Andres, maitre of La Sucursal.
This is a special dinner with wine pairing. Its price is 100 euros / diner.
You can also buy your ticket for the dinner in the Verema Store. Once you have completed the payment, we will need that you send an email to us with the subject "Closing Dinner", and please put in the body the names of the attendees.
